Social Work Refresher Training

Working in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire, SocialWork2000 are looking at the feasibility of providing refresher training in children and families social work. This training would be particularly suitable for:

  • Qualified social workers looking to return to children and families social work after taking a career break or working in another area such as training or counselling
  • Qualified social workers in adult services looking to transfer to children's services
  • Newly qualified social workers looking to further increase their confidence, experience and knowledge of children and families social work before embarking upon their first job
It is envisaged that the training will provide statutory legislative information and opportunities for direct practice. If you think you might be interested please email Maggie Whymark, Business Manager at maggie@socialwork2000.co.uk with a short description of your current situation.

Congratulations to Christine

Last summer SocialWork 2000 sponsored awards to Social Work students at the University of Bedfordshire to commend those who had gone the extra mile in terms of their support to others, their motivation and their commitment to learning. Christine Phillips won the Year 2 Award "because of the exceptional commitment she gives to her studies, her support of other students and her positive attitude to learning."

Christine received a Ticketmaster voucher... "my husband and I went to Twickenham to see England v Barbarians, not the most brilliant game (England need to get their act together) but a fantastic experience. I have not been to London for thirty six years, and that was to Twickers, so it was interesting to see how much the Capital has changed, and what a superb stadium the Rugby Union now has. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity. I have just over six weeks left now to complete my studies what a wonderful three year experience, we all graduate in October, and I will be returning to my original job in mid August as a qualified social worker."

Congratulations once again, Christine. We will be delighted to welcome you to the profession.
