Welcome to Alfie

Yvonne Stringer who works in our High Wycombe Office gave birth to a baby son, ALFIE, in the early hours of Sunday 30th March. A very peaceful little boy came into the office with his very proud mother to see the Team. We welcome Alfie to the world and wish Yvonne well as she embarks upon family life.
Movers and Shakers

We have had a little movement with our team recently so we thought it would be a good idea to keep you up to date.

In the High Wycombe Office NIKKI MILLS is now well established and proving a great support to JO. YVONNE is now on maternity leave and her work on Payroll is now very ably being covered by SAM CLARKE.

Team Leader EMMA BLAKER will be going on maternity leave this week. Emma has had a great year in charge and we will really miss her. We are delighted to have the very experienced MAGGIE WHYMARK to cover Emma's role whilst she is away.
Cats

Last Monday evening Social Workers with SocialWork 2000 were treated to an evening at the Theatre when they enjoyed CATS , the longest running musical in West End and Broadway history , which was performed to a packed audience at the Wycombe Swan. A lovely buffet meal in relaxed surroundings helped us to wind down at the end of a busy day. A magical musical followed with breath-taking choreography, stunning costumes, spectacular set design and an amazing musical score. Emma and Vicki heard and saw live for the first time a story from their childhood. A great evening!

Public Law Outline

On Thursday 20 March at the Milton Keynes Office, SocialWork 2000 hosted a seminar on the introduction of the Public Law Outline (PLO), which replaces the current Protocol for managing care cases, aiming to reduce unnecessary delay.

Gillian Geddes, family law Barrister with BarristerWeb and Jane Andrews, Director of Ward Andrews Children’s Centre in Milton Keynes delivered the seminar.

Offered free of charge to locum social workers working through SocialWork 2000, the seminar was oversubscribed and extremely well received.

Comments on the day included "The course was really well presented", "Really enjoyed the trainers styles" and "Entertaining and informative".
