By now you should have received communication from us that our MK team have relocated. If this is news to you – please see below: From the beginning of September the MK team will be relocating to a new office. Our MK team has been based at 500 Avebury Boulevard from the very beginning, when SocialWork 2000 was the new kid on the block. Now an established and well known name in the industry, with a prominent city centre address, the decision to relocate has not been an easy one. However, with free parking, close proximity to junction 14 of the M1, adjacent paddocks and fields criss-crossed by footpaths and trails, we think you'll agree that swapping a car park vista for ‘countryside' views is a good one, and may hopefully lead to a sound work-life balance. Lunch time picnics, walks and even runs (for the more energetic amongst the team) may become regular features of our working day!! It won't be all rest and play – we are working hard to plan a smooth transition, thereby ensuring there will be minimum disruption for our locums and clients alike. So, from the 5th September 2011, Kate, Mags, Vicki and Shelli will be based at: Regus Atterbury Lakes Fairbourne Drive Atterbury Lakes Milton Keynes MK10 9RG Should you need to contact us, our email addresses will remain the same. However, we will have a new telephone number and a new fax number: Tel: 01908 487 588 Fax: 01908 487 709 Wishing you all the very best, The MK team

Every year as a SocialWork 2000 or Amicus Recruit locum you will be asked to meet with your adviser to complete a new CRB form. We appreciate this can sometimes be an inconvenience, especially when work is so relentless and never ending. To make this as easy as possible for you, we can arrange to come out to your place of work, or can meet you for a coffee and a catch up to suit your schedule. Why do we need to do this? SocialWork 2000 and Amicus Recruit have always strived to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of compliance, and are obliged to undertake annual CRB checks as part of the service level agreements we have with our clients. Over and above this, annual CRB checks have always formed part of our safeguarding procedures, along with our face to face ‘Warner'/safer recruitment registration interviews and a full five year reference history for every social worker. Clients can always be assured that we have undertaken a series of checks to ensure our workers are fully vetted. To avoid the possibility that a client will temporarily suspend a contract should a CRB application be overdue, we try to complete a new application at least one month ahead of an existing one being deemed invalid by our clients. Should you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to speak to your adviser.

Congratulations to Katie Park, from our MK office, and her husband Ali on the arrival of new baby boy Euan Roe James. We were all very excited to see Euan when he came to visit us at our new offices. He weighed in at a very healthy 8lb 7 oz when he was born on 15th August. We wish Euan and his parents all the very best for a healthy and happy life ahead.

| SocialWork 2000 South West |
|
From the end of September we are expanding west! Headed up by our MK recruitment adviser Vicki, we will have a new branch based in Wellington, Somerset. We already have some South West based clients, and are hopeful of adding several more by the end of the Autumn. If you fancy a change for a few months, please get in touch with Vicki for more information about current and upcoming vacancies. Alternatively visit our website to view details of current South West vacancies – these will be in both adult and children's services in Somerset, North Somerset and Devon. Of the move to Wellington Vicki said, "I'm really excited by the prospect of developing the brand in a new geographical area. Having worked for the company for over 5 years, I'm keen to get stuck into a new challenge! I've worked hard over the past 6 months to engage with, and establish links with new clients, and new locums alike. It is important to me that I replicate the reputation we have established over the past decade". Vicki's existing locums can be assured of receiving the same service and level of support despite her relocation to Somerset. She will still maintain and work with her MK locums, and can be contacted by phone or email as normal. In the longer term, James, Ben and Michael are hoping this will prove a successful business model, that can eventually be rolled out across other parts of the UK. If you would like more information about this latest development, please contact Vicki
